Years of Hardwork
The idea to establish Environmental Friendly Initiative (EFI) and eventual incorporation in 2011 as non-profit and non-governmental organization developed at the 4th Annual Conference of Nigerian Senate on Environment in 2006. It started off with two key important approaches: Firstly to understand things as they are and why. Secondly, contribute to improving it. The intention is to reset the solution approach to environmental problems using the tools of research, education and advocacy
Evidence show that it took lots of efforts to convince the global community during the SDG negotiations to accept climate change as a stand-alone goal. The goodnews is that climate change is now a crosscutting concern and fundamental in shaping economies and politics. The arrival of 2030 Agenda (Sustainable Development Goals particularly Goal 13) and Paris Agreement frameworks anchored on three strands of people, planet and prosperity makes our activity programming a lot easier.
